117 claimed that they would offer Jagex as a compromise RuneScape Gold for sale, by removing their project after Jagex had released their own, as well as giving Jagex "collaborative control" over the visual style of Runelite HD.
"They rejected the project outright," 117 said. "I am extremely unhappy and dissatisfied with Jagex, and I am very disappointed I am so disappointed that after this lengthy journey I'm not able present this project to you. The mod seems to violate Jagex's rules for third-party client applications, but the Runescape developer has said it will be changing the guidelines in the coming week to include references projects that alter the appearance of the game.
Original Runelite creator Adam1210 shared his thoughts on Reddit and stated that the ability to allow Runelite HD to continue would provide a benefit for future updates made by Jagex.
"I also disagree strongly with including it in the "third group guidelines,"" Adam1210 said. "Most of them are trying to determine where the line is between "quality living] and cheating lies and I believe that the majority of people are of the opinion that the guidelines currently in place are a decent description of that. it helps keeps sic the game integrity.
There isn't any unfair advantage for improved graphics, and it is only an issue once you have enabled it. Thus, it's an infringement of guidelines old school rs gold. So overall this is really an inconvenience for everyone involved and I would like Jagex could reconsider."
